Petitie: geen autoweg door het Binnenveld!

Update petition on 23th march 2018:

The province of Gelderland has assumed their power over the process in july 2017 and wants to realize a motorway around the Campus through a so-called fitting-in plan. This road will pass the Binnenveld, passes the residential area of Noordwest and through the 200-year old forrest ‘Dassenbos’ on the Campus. This road will damage nature, landscape and the living environment.

The province of Gelderland states that this road is necessary to improve the accessibility of Wageningen. For more information see: https://www.gelderland.nl/beterbereikbaarwageningencampusroute.html (in Dutch).

According to the association of organisations “Wageningen Goed op Weg” (Wageningen on the right track) a new road is not necessary at all. There are sufficient alternative measures to improve the accessibility to Wageningen that do not permanently affect the living environment and the landscape. Till April 25th you can submit a point of view on the plans of the province, the so-called “memorandum on the scope and level of detail”.

We continue the petition, as the threat remains of a new motorway through the Binnenveld and along Noordwest.
The signers of this petition express themselves against the construction of a new motorway through the Binnenveld. They support the step-by-step approach in improving the accessibility of Wageningen, as has been argued by Wageningen Goed op Weg. This is based upon the so-called Scale of Verdaas, for a sustainable mobility policy. They request the province of Gelderland to work on this seriously with all the participants.
